Platelet Rich Plasma or Ozone Therapy?
Platlet Rich Plasma therapy is a type of regenerative injection similar to conventional dextrose prolotherapy, which involves the application of concentrated blood platelet cells into the area of joint deterioration. Platelets contain growth factors which stimulate the regeneration of cartilage, ligament and tendon tissue. It has a variety of applications for chronic pain and typically results are permanent. We offer Prolotherapy, ozone pain injections and blood ozone therapy currently as PRP undergoes legislative changes it is unavailable. Results have been studied and both have similar effectiveness.
One recent study showed:
PRP and Ozone produce pain relief, function recovery and quality of life improvement in PFPS and Chondromalacia, measured by VAS and WOMAC scales. In the case of pain severity, Ozone produces even greater pain relief. PRP and Ozone are safe and effective modalities for the management of PFPS and Chondromalacia.
